TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY

Welcome to the website of Richard Nebeský,

a professional photographer with a lifetime of experience in original photography.

I provide services as a film and television location adviser/scout for film/TV makers in the Czech Republic. My fee is US$80 per hour or US$300 per day plus expenses. For a lower fee of US$60 per hour or US$150 per day, I can also be a location guide for photographers. I also provide a guide and interpreter service if requested.

Anyone travelling to the Czech Republic or Prague can approach me for custom made itineraries to these destinations, be it for individuals, couples or groups. The advice is based on number of days traveling, interests and what type of mode of transport you want to use – public transport, bicycle or car. Fees vary according to the number of days traveling, but start from US$50 per day.

I am available to photograph travel destinations, documentaries, architecture, sporting events, festivals, corporate functions, weddings, real estate or any private occasion. I do not sub-contract my assignments to other photographers, so I can personally ensure that all my original images are completed without compromise, and are of the highest and best quality.

You can view a sample of my images at this website. Images can be purchased directly from me via email.

Alternatively, some images are available from several ‘image stock libraries’ and can be viewed and purchased from Getty Images (www.gettyimages.com) and Robert Harding World Imagery (www.robertharding.com/richardnebesky) stock libraries web sites, to whom I regularly submit my work.

For prices and availability of images, or if you wish to discuss your photographic needs, please contact me via email:

I generally spend the Australian summer in Melbourne and the European summer in Prague.

Currently, I use the Nikon D800 and D700 cameras.

Walking tours to taking better pictures

The three-hourly photo tours are a fun and instructive way to learn how to take better pictures on a photographic discovery walking tour of a city by providing travellers, tourists and locals with useful photographic tips without the tedious theory and rhetoric.
It is an alternative to attending a photographic course that most of us don’t have the time, inclination or the money to sit through many hours of classroom lectures. There is no easier or faster way to learn creative photography then by taking one of my tours, where you are free to ask questions you’ve always wanted to know, and get friendly and helpful advice.
The photo tours are designed for anyone with a camera – be it a basic compact or an DSLR – who has an interest to improve their photography.
There is a nine-hour photo course also available. See below for more details. It is also possible to conduct an extensive photography course. The lessons are not limited to the City but can be conducted anywhere around the world.

During the 2023 season the courses are conducted in Prague, Český Krumlov, Kutná Hora or Šumava until January 2024. In Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road or Beechworth from February, 2024.

I was introduced to the love of photography during my early childhood when I was given my first point and shoot camera. My interest developed into professional travel photography through work in the travel industry, where I photograph for several travel guide book publishers including Frommer's, Berlitz, Insight, Touring Club Italiano and Lonely Planet Publications. Eleven images were published as covers of Lonely Planet travel guided books. My images are published in magazines world wide and I am the photographer, author and co-author of several Lonely Planet and Czech Greenways travel guidebooks, all of which have given me the extensive knowledge and expertise to lead these uniquely specialized tours.
